Bottle Refusal

Service Description

This service is for parents of infants under 6 months of age, who are working to get baby to take a bottle and includes a two week follow-up period. During your visit, we will explore the obstacles that are keeping baby from taking a bottle, and together we will create a plan that will help you and your baby work to build the skills needed to succeed. If needed, I will provide sanitized bottles to try, and if we find one that works that you don't already have, that bottle will be yours to keep. This is a process that sometimes takes up to 2 weeks, after which your baby should be able to take at least 1-2 oz bottles per feeding session. The more you update me with any changes or difficulties over the course of your 2 week follow up period, the more likely success will be! If at the end of 2 weeks, baby is still not able to use the bottle, a follow up appointment will necessary to discuss next steps and a new plan. I support families who are using formula and/or pumped milk. Please make an "initial consult" appointment if you would like guidance in other areas related to lactation such as increasing supply, latching at the breast, pumping, etc.. If your baby is older than 6 months, please reach out before booking.
